ESMT Berlin invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor in the area of sustainable business and transformation. Candidates from all disciplines of management and economics with strong focus on sustainability will be considered. Candidates with internationally recognized profiles and expertise in energy markets and transition, climate change and finance, and circular economy/business are particularly encouraged to apply. Requirements include outstanding research accomplishments, commitment to excellence in teaching in both degree programs and executive education, and interest in institution building.

This position is connected with the academic leadership of ESMT’s Sustainable Business Transformation Initiative (https://esmt.berlin/press/esmt-berlin-establishes-sustainable-business-transformation-initiative). This newly founded initiative aims to increase ESMT’s academic footprint in research and education on critical areas with impact for business and society and to provide innovative solutions to global environmental and social challenges.

It encompasses the establishment of FUTURIST – Institute for Sustainable Transformation, a new institute in partnership with Werte-Stiftung, and with support from several private companies. The holder of this position is expected to take a leading role in the advancement of the institute and will not only conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary scholarly research and engage in applied projects, but also contribute to outreach by strengthening ties with external research partners as well as stakeholders from the private and public sectors.
