The UCL School of Slavonic & East European Studies (SSEES – the School) is seeking to recruit two Lecturers at Grade 8 (equivalent to advanced tenure-track assistant professor) in Economics, from 1 September 2022. These positions are part of SSEES’s current programme of academic investments and will contribute to advancing the School’s unique interdisciplinary mission.
In this academic position, you will be expected to undertake a portfolio of outstanding original research; plan and develop external research funding; maintain a track record of internationally excellent peer-reviewed research publications; and to disseminate and secure impact from this research, at conferences and seminars, and through engagement with non-academic communities and stakeholders.
Your contribution to the education mission of the School will include planning and delivering high-quality teaching, assessment, and feedback at all levels (including supervising and assessing dissertations) and providing academic and pastoral support. You will also be expected to undertake relevant and appropriate School leadership and management roles as required.
The person appointed is required to have: a PhD in Economics or a related discipline; significant postdoctoral research experience or similar; a developing publication record; experience of teaching Economics at University level;excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience of using virtual learning environments.
