The Department of Economics at Western Washington University has an opening for an assistant professor at the tenure track level beginning September 2022. Candidates must hold an Economics Ph.D. or be ABD at time of appointment. If ABD at time of appointment, all degree requirements must be completed by June 15th of the first year of employment. The ideal candidate will have evidence of work in applied microeconomics, with an emphasis on or field in econometrics, and secondary field or evidence of teaching interests in resource/environmental or energy economics. The successful candidate will teach multiple undergraduate classes in econometrics (e.g., introduction to econometrics, econometrics, and/or time series and forecasting) and additional classes in resource/environmental economics or similar. Also required is a demonstrated ability and commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds.
