The Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo has one opening for a Research Associate (jokyo) in Education or Labour Economics. This is a non-tenure-track post-doctoral position. The maximum term is 3 years.

The main responsibility of the position is to produce high-quality academic research. Research time is to be split evenly between the candidate's own research agenda and research projects associated with the grant that funds this position. The latter will include an analysis of Japanese government documents and statistics related to elementary and junior high school education. There is no teaching requirement for this position.

The start date is April 1st, 2022, or as soon thereafter as possible. The position is provided on an annual contract basis, and the contract can be renewed twice. Candidates must have already obtained or be expected to obtain a PhD degree.
