Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Community Economic Development Advisor will implement an innovative extension education and applied research program to address high priority needs and problems to increase community and economic development with an emphasis on the expansion of access to enhanced remote/online services. The position will include community and economic development, working closely with regional economic development, academic, industry, and governmental organizations to promote regional prosperity through collaborative efforts. The advisor will work to support the advancing of rural access to online and remote services, as well as other rural utility services (e.g., novel approaches to increase rural adoption of improved practices such as precision agriculture for farms).
Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree in community development, agricultural economics, public policy, social studies, rural sociology, agribusiness, or related fields is required at the time of appointment.
