The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks a full time (9-month), tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to develop a research and Extension program on value-added agriculture in Wisconsin and the nation.
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct nationally recognized research on economic and agribusiness topics and have the capacity to engage with state and industry stakeholders to produce outreach directly relevant to value-added agriculture. For this position, value-added agriculture entails changing raw agricultural products into new products, adopting new production practices, or developing new markets, with research potentially ranging from broadly studying value-added supply chains to specific agricultural products or practices. The department will offer robust mentoring, an initial teaching reduction, research support, and other resources to support the successful applicant establishing their research and Extension activities.
