About This Position
The Water Services Department seeks a highly motivated individual for econometric modeling to study water consumption patterns and the various contributing factors including demographics, climate, conservation, economic conditions, and drought planning. The successful candidate will assist in forecasting consumer demands to inform water and wastewater infrastructure master planning, conservation, water resource planning, capital improvement programs, finance, planning & development and additional development of databases used in support of monitoring and policy decision making.
This position requires specialized knowledge in research methods, statistical modeling (JMP, SAS, R or other), and management of databases to develop key indicators that support management decisions and would be ideal for a person with strong quantitative and statistical skills, econometric modeling, written communications, experience in municipal finance, urban planning, or resource economics and familiarity with large datasets and/or geospatial programs (GIS) to address infrastructure and/or natural resource management issues. Additional responsibilities include supervising staff; supporting the future of infrastructure planning in the City of Phoenix; analysis in water demand and revenue forecasting for use in potential projects such as rate setting, financial planning, water and wastewater master plans, impact fee updates, water and wastewater use studies.
