The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. The incumbent will develop and implement an excellent teaching and research program that addresses critical agricultural economics and agribusiness issues related to the production, distribution, and accessibility of food and agricultural commodities through sustainable means. Applicants with interests in agricultural production, policy, finance, supply chain, and/or marketing that affect agricultural and food businesses are encouraged to apply and to embrace the interdisciplinary tradition of AEDE and CFAES in solving significant societal challenges. The appointee will have a 9-month academic year appointment.

The appointee is expected to develop a nationally recognized research program (approximately 50%) with a complementary extension program in their area of expertise (approximately 25%); and will teach 1-2 courses in AEDE’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs related to agricultural economics and agribusiness (approximately 25%).

Applicants must possess a PhD in agricultural economics, economics, or a related field; or expect to complete the PhD degree before August 1, 2023.
