The Department of Economics at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2023. We are seeking candidates that can add to the Department’s excellence in environmental and natural resource economics and policy. We are particularly interested in candidates that have the potential to maintain an exceptional applied empirical research program that contributes to the integration of economics and environmental science.
The position will support a newly awarded $20 million NSF project on climate change impacts in the nation’s headwaters region of the Greater Yellowstone Area, including a role at the new Laboratory for Regional Earth System Modeling. The position provides significant start-up resources to build a successful research program. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a productive research program, supervise graduate students, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The Department specializes in environmental and natural resource economics and has an internationally ranked PhD program. The University of Wyoming is located in Laramie, a charming university town in the scenic Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, two hours from Denver.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful applicant will demonstrate the potential for excellence in research and teaching, and an interest in participating in departmental activities. Applicants must hold a PhD in Economics or related field.
Desired Qualifications
A record of an emerging research program with significant impact. Higher education teaching experience, and an interest in interdisciplinary research.
