Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Economics at the University of Rochester announces a Postdoctoral Fellow position to work with Dr. Elaine L. Hill, PhD, a health economist. The NIH-funded project involves assessing how the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the opioid overdose crisis using a quasi-experimental approach. This work is also in collaboration with Dr. Sumedha Gupta and Dr. Kosali Simon --the candidate will benefit from their mentorship.
Applications from a wide-range of disciplinary backgrounds will be considered, including economics, health policy, health services, data science and related fields.
Experience with statistical programming in any of the following is required: SAS, STATA, R, or python and knowledge of GIS. Experience with claims data or EMR data is preferred.
The position is expected to be for 2 years, initially for one year with the possibility of renewal based upon performance. Prior postdocs have been promoted to research professors.
