The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking a Vice President of Regional Analysis and Outreach who will lead a team of professionals dedicated to monitoring regional economic conditions, performing analysis that informs monetary policy, and engaging with the public. The successful candidate will leverage experience in economics or public policy and an ability to identify emerging trends from qualitative and quantitative data to provide oversight and guidance to an experienced team.
Position Accountabilities:
• Manage a team of policy economists and analysts who monitor the region’s economic environment and interpret intelligence gathered through qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Ensure intelligence gathered through external engagement and insights gained through research and analysis provide effective support for the Bank’s monetary policy contributions.
• Share insightful perspectives on the regional economy with researchers, policymakers, and the informed public through Bank publications, speeches, and engaging external web content.
• Support the work of a team of regional officers in their efforts to develop and maintain a network of external contacts and advisors that provide insights on emerging regional issues.
• Establish strategic connections between regional stakeholders, organizations, and subject matter experts; create forums to share knowledge and gain perspectives on solutions to barriers to regional economic growth and prosperity.
• Promote a deeper understanding of the Federal Reserve System and its mission.
• Interact with the Bank’s board of directors and business advisory councils.
Education and Experience:
• PhD or Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience with or knowledge of the process of conducting economic research and analysis.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including management.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to recognize emerging trends and relevant issues that are embedded in large quantities of information.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to guide the process of translating complex information to a less-technical audience.
• Ability to manage a team of experienced professionals and the analysts who support them.
• Knowledge of basic economic principles, understanding of current economic conditions and relevant associated policy issues, and a commitment to public service.
