The US Naval Academy Economics Department invites applications for the Admiral William J. Crowe and Shirley Grennell Crowe Chair in Economics to begin as early as January 2024. Applications will be reviewed no earlier than 17 July 2023 and will be accepted until the position is filled. This is a visiting position available for up to two years with the possibility of a third year. The length of appointment is determined by mutual agreement between the US Naval Academy and the successful applicant. Candidates should have an established leadership record within organizations that support the national security industrial base. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and to appropriate research on defense economics issues is expected. Candidates must be willing to teach a course focused on the economics of national defense. The teaching load would be no more than two sections (10-20 students) per semester.
