The School of Economics at the University of Sydney is one of the primary centres for economics in Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. School academic staff have varied specialisms and areas of expertise, including theory, macroeconomics, behavioural economics and econometrics. The School of Economics is located within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences which is ranked 24th in the world and 1st in Australia for Arts and Humanities.

We are seeking to appoint two outstanding Associate Professor(s) or Professor(s) of Economics who are a leading authority within their disciplines and have an international reputation for excellence. We are seeking to appoint a disciplinary leader in Health Economics and more generally in either Microeconomics, Macroeconomics or Applied Economics. These roles will contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the School and University through participation in collegial governance and decision-making. The successful candidates will foster a culture of excellence through guiding academic staff and students towards success. You will maintain an international standing through original and distinguished contributions to research. This role will also provide leadership in curriculum development and program design within the School to further enhance the University’s standing as a national leader in education.
