Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Department of Economics at Tilburg University’s School of Economics and Management is seeking to hire several Assistant Professors of Economics. We will, in principle, also consider applicants for more senior positions at the Associate or Full Professor level. Junior applicants should have outstanding research potential as well as the ability to provide high-quality teaching in economics at the undergraduate and graduate level. The positions offer ample opportunities for research as they carry a light teaching load (approximately one course per semester). After a period of usually 5 years, a decision for promotion to Associate Professor will be made. The department seeks a diverse workforce and encourages applications by female and minority candidates.

Tilburg University is among the top European institutions specializing in social sciences. The Department of Economics has a strong research reputation, with a high-quality graduate school (CentER). We offer competitive European salaries. Researchers from outside the Netherlands can apply for a tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary (for the first five years of their stay in the Netherlands). The University offers generous fringe benefits, including a generous pension scheme and relocation assistance.
