Open Rank (Tenured/Advanced Tenure Track) Position in Environment and Health

The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (O’Neill) at Indiana University, Bloomington (IUB) invites applications for a tenured, open rank faculty position with a research focus in the broad area of environment and health, including work related to health, demographic, economic, and behavioral responses to climate change; pollution, and environmental policies; health effects of environmental disasters; and environmental inequities and health disparities.

The position is part of Indiana University’s Faculty 100 hiring initiative, which seeks to expand on existing research strengths at IUB to help foster research teams to compete successfully for large-scale federal research programs. We seek an established researcher with a strong record of innovative and impactful scholarship, demonstrated success securing external funding, experience advising doctoral students, and an ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.

The preferred appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, advanced Assistant Professors are also encouraged to apply. Candidates will have a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, sociology/demography, epidemiology, political science, or a related field. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected start date is August 1, 2024.

Applicants should have an established record that includes high quality publications, and evidence of substantial extramural funding. All O’Neill faculty members are expected to interact with our diverse student and faculty community. A record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from many backgrounds (including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ, etc.) is desirable.
