Position: Full-Time Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor (Permanent, Tenure Track or Tenured) or a visiting appointment for up to three years.

Qualification: Ph.D. or equivalent, does research in Finance or relevant areas or economics such as banking, central banking and insurance.

The Institute of Financial Studies:
The IFS at SWUFE was established by Professor Philip H. Dybvig, the Founding
Dean of the Institute, in 2010. We aspire to the highest level of financial research. We
now have eleven research active assistant professors. One highlight of our
comm itment to research is a summer program that brings in top scholars to help the
local scholars, a light teaching load, and compensation with substantial incentive pay
for research success.

Compensation for new PhDs includes base salary and incentive pay b ased on
publication success, a start up research grant, housing allowance, and other fringe
benefits. SWUFE is located in beautiful Chengdu, a famous city for its good food,
relaxed atmosphere, and low cost of living living. Favorable tax treatment may make a
vis iting appointment attractive to western scholars seeking a change of venue in an
institution highly supportive of research.
