Mississippi State University’s NSPARC conducts research to inform strategic decisions that address real-world problems related to workforce and economic development. Our typical client list includes government agencies, private corporations, nonprofits, and academic researchers.

Successful applicants will hold the title of Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a 1-year term. At the end of their term, fellows may be offered a renewed term or may have the opportunity to apply to join the center as a full-time staff member. Former employees have used the skills, relationships, and experience gained at NSPARC as the foundation for careers with D.C.-based think-tanks, consulting firms, government agencies, and Fortune 500 corporations.

Fellows will transform clients questions into actionable research frameworks, then construct pragmatic research reports or briefs that addresses the clients’ needs. Fellows may also draft proposals for extramural funding, work collectively on multidisciplinary teams, and perform other duties as assigned. Fellows must have the ability to thrive in a hybrid- or remote-working environment, and the ability to transform academic research results into audience-appropriate technical reports or policy papers.
