The Data Analytics Department of Dickinson College invites applications for a tenure-track position in data analytics at the assistant professor level beginning in fall of 2024, pending approval and funding. Applicants are expected to have an ongoing research program in data science theory or applications, and to hold, at the time of appointment, a Ph.D. in a discipline that employs data science, including but not limited to data science, statistics, business analytics, or economics. A dedicated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, an appreciation for the intellectual community of a liberal arts college, and the ability to work with a diverse student body are essential qualities. Tenure-track faculty teach five courses a year, pursue their own scholarship, and mentor undergraduate research. The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses which could include introduction to data science, data systems, machine learning, and other data analytics electives.

Dickinson College is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with approximately 2,100 students. It is located in historic Carlisle, Pennsylvania, which is 20 minutes west of Harrisburg and a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. The faculty prides itself on fostering meaningful student/faculty interactions and promoting student/faculty research.
