Assistant Professorship (Tenure-Track) in Finance with a focus on Private Markets (100%)
The University of St.Gallen and its School of Finance are seeking candidates for an assistant professorship in the field of Finance, with a focus on Private Markets. The new professor will be part of the School of Finance and the new Center for Financial Services Innovation (FSI-HSG). The candidate is expected to participate in the Center’s activities and contribute to research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. An affiliation with the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) is an option.
To be considered for this position, applicants should have a Ph.D. in finance (or be near completion) as well as an excellent track record in research and teaching in Finance, preferably Private Markets (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, Infrastructure, etc.). The position involves the usual teaching load in English at all levels, with the opportunity to teach at the executive level. Activities at the FSI-HSG reduce the teaching load.
The appointment is a tenure track position with the option to be promoted to associate professor after 6 years (with an intermediate evaluation after 3 years).
The University of St.Gallen is committed to promoting equal opportunities and an inclusive working culture. We explicitly encourage women and members of underrepresented groups to apply.
We seek candidates per 1 August 2024, or by mutual agreement. For further information, please contact Professor Dr. Tereza Tykvova, Chair of the Appointment Committee (facultyposition@unisg.ch). The application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae with an indication of the most relevant contributions, a job market paper, and, later in the process, two reference letters. Candidates should submit their application in electronic form at www.unisg.ch/professorships. The deadline for applications is 6 November 2023.
