Economic analysis and research are essential functions of the Bank of Spain to enhance its role as a national central bank and as a member of the Eurosystem.
The team of researchers at the Bank of Spain is made up of economists of international prestige and offers a unique environment in which to develop cutting-edge quality research with an impact on society. Research activities at the Bank of Spain are oriented towards economic policy, the production of reports for the public, and publications in top quality journals.
We therefore seek to hire economists who have completed, or are close to completing, a PhD in economics or finance, for our headquarters in Madrid. A good command of written and spoken Spanish will be highly valued. Applicants must send a CV, a sample of a recent research and at least three recommendation letters in response to the announcement of the Bank of Spain on the EconJobMarket website (https://econjobmarket.org/positions/9915) before November 19th, 2023.
There are no restrictions of nationality for this position but, if selected, foreign nationals may have to request a permit to reside and work in Spain before they can work at the Bank of Spain. Potential employees are expected to obtain their visa (in case they need one) and any permits necessary to work in Spain on their own. Selected candidates must also be in possession of their PhD degree on the date of their incorporation. Evidence of a PhD must be provided to the Bank of Spain before a work contract can be formalized.
