High proficiency in Japanese is required for this position.
The Graduate School of Economics at the University of Tokyo invites applications for two project assistant professor positions in empirical microeconomics beginning in the summer of 2024 with funding from the JST ERATO project on market design: https://www.jst.go.jp/pr/info/info1641/pdf/info1641.pdf
In addition to conducting their own research, successful candidates are expected to work on project management and other tasks related to the ERATO project. The position is a fixed-term 2-year position.
Given that the position involves administrative duties in the Japanese language, a high proficiency in Japanese is required for the position. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in economics at the time of their appointment.
