Full Text of JOE Listing:

The USITC is an independent federal agency that provides objective economic assessments of government policies, commercial practices, and other issues related to international trade and investment. The agency is consistently ranked as one of best places to work among federal agencies. USITC Economists work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide economic expertise in USITC reports for the President, the U.S. Trade Representative, and Congress.

Economists in the Country and Regional Analysis Division (CRD) often serve as authors and project leaders for Commission reports (for examples, see usitc.gov/research_and_analysis/what_we_are_working_on). CRD economists also engage in strategic research initiatives and participate in research groups (e.g., usitc.gov/tiva_portal). CRD is interested in candidates with experience leading research teams and an interest in applied economics topics related to international trade. We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge of emerging trade issues, and/or trade policies and practices in specific regions or countries. Expertise in data analysis, econometrics, and/or economic modelling would be an asset.

At USITC, economists have access to international trade experts, data and other research resources, training opportunities, travel to domestic and international conferences, and an active seminar series and visiting scholar program.

U.S. Citizenship Required. USITC is an equal opportunity employer.
