The Graduate School of Economics at Kobe University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track/permanent Assistant/Associate Professor in macroeconomics to begin on October 1, 2024 (the start date is negotiable).

For the tenure-track position, the initial appointment is for five years with low administrative duties and a reduced teaching load for the candidate. A tenure review will be conducted by the end of the fourth year.

Applicants must:
(i) be able to teach macroeconomics, mathematics for economists, and introductory economics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in both Japanese and English;
(ii) hold a Ph.D. degree (or its equivalent) or be expected to obtain one by the start date; and
(iii) demonstrate a record of high-quality research in macroeconomics (peer-reviewed publications in international academic journals are required, but not necessarily for beginning researchers).

The application deadline is January 31, 2024, at 23:59 Japan Standard Time.

Salary will be determined in accordance with university regulations, and a pension scheme is available.
