Graduate School of Economics at Kobe University invites applications for a full-time permanent/tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in International Economics (International Trade, International Investment). The date of employment is October 1st, 2024 (the date is negotiable).

The position is either permanent or tenure-track. For the tenure-track position, the initial appointment is for five years. A tenure review will be conducted by the end of the fourth year. For an applicant with a very good record of high-quality research, a permanent (tenured) position might be considered without going into the tenure-track procedure.

The successful candidate must be able to teach specialized subjects in International Economics (both graduate and undergraduate levels) and some of undergraduate-level basic subjects (e.g., introductory economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, statistics, and mathematics for economics).

The candidate must meet all of the following criteria: (1) the candidate holds a PhD degree or is expected to get a PhD degree by the date of employment; (2) the candidate demonstrates a record of high-quality research in a specialized field (It is desirable that at least one empirical study on international trade is included); (3) the candidate is able to give lectures both in Japanese and in English.
