The Department of Economics in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) seeks applicants for a tenure-track/tenured position beginning Fall 2024 at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor. The position is open to individuals with research interests in health economics and policy, including healthcare markets design and performance.
A Ph.D. in Economics (or a related area) is required by the employment start date. Candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor should demonstrate a strong potential for publishing in top field and top general-interest economics journals. Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor should have a substantial record of publications in journals of the highest quality and currently be engaged in an active research program in the field. Candidates should be able to teach courses in their primary and secondary fields at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The teaching load is three courses per year while untenured and four courses per year once tenured. Tenure is contingent upon Board of Regents approval.
