The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia seeks to recruit an Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor (Tenure Track, 9-month Appointment) in any field related to agricultural, environmental, resource, food, health, or development economics. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or closely related field, a willingness to work in a team environment, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include: (1) potential to build an outstanding record of research in the area of specialization as evidenced by numerous publications in premier agricultural economics, applied economics, and economics journals and presentations to relevant audiences, leading to a national and international reputation; (2) readiness to build an excellent graduate and undergraduate student teaching and mentoring portfolio; (3) a willingness to secure significant external grant funding, and (4) potential to have a positive and meaningful impact on agriculture, environment, natural resources, and economic development of Georgia, the US, and the globe.

To be considered for the rank of Associate Professor (Professor), candidates must have at least 5 full years in rank at the Assistant Professor (Associate Professor) level. To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an Associate or Full Professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and demonstrate national regional and/or international reputation. The position is a 55% research, 40% teaching, and 5% service appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
