Full Text of JOE Listing:

The University of Chicago is seeking to appoint one world-leading early career researcher. This postdoctoral position is part of a collaboration with The Ministry of Economy and Planning of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration is intended to help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and effective public policy and will focus on conducting economic research to inform social and economic policies in Saudi Arabia. It aims to have world-wide impact by increasing our understanding in various policy domains, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, international organizations, social development, and labor market dynamics. Special emphasis will be placed on the application of behavioral and experimental economics to inform public policy decisions. The Post-doctoral Scholars will work on a number of research projects as part of the lab, reporting to Professor John List, working alongside and in collaboration with his team at the University of Chicago.

Postdoctoral Scholars will spend the majority of their time at the University of Chicago, with visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish new research partnerships, design and conduct field experiments, and strengthen their research pipeline before starting tenure track faculty positions. During their time at the University of Chicago, they are closely integrated in John List's experimental economics group. Postdoctoral scholars are highly encouraged to build on existing projects within the Lab, as well as starting their own research agendas.

There are no teaching or administrative obligations. The term for the position is up to two years. Applicants with research interests in applied microeconomics and experience in conducting field experiments will be given priority.
