UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) pioneers substance use disorder collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies. Currently, ISAP's evaluation is involved in assessing policies and programs, such as the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System Waiver, California's Contingency Management Benefit, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) expansion, Proposition 64, and the overall health of California's cannabis industry in partnership with entities like the California Department of Health Care Services and the Department of Cannabis Control.

The Postdoctoral Researcher role is a two-year hybrid position, primarily based in Westwood, California, with renewal. Responsibilities include contributing to ongoing evaluation and research projects, emphasizing empirical methodology, statistical analyses, and manuscript/report preparation. The role also involves aiding in grant proposal development as a Co-PI/Co-I, and active participation in weekly project meetings.

Qualifications for applicants include a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, public health, psychology, or a related field with experience in health/mental health/substance use disorder research. The candidate should possess strong econometric skills, experience in quasi-experimental causal inference research designs, proficiency in R, STATA, SAS, or similar statistical software, excellent verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to produce journal-quality manuscripts.
