Full Professor of Economics with a focus on Public Economics

at salary grade W3 to commence on 1 October, 2024. This is a permanent civil service position.

We are looking for an outstanding scholar with a strong track record in the field of public finance. Candidates should have publications in leading international journals, relevant teaching experience, and experience in attracting and implementing third-party funding. Applications from all areas of public finance are welcome. A research focus on health and/or environmental economics is desirable but not required. A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research collaboration and the ability to relate to the research priorities of the faculty are expected.

Teaching responsibilities include core and elective courses in economics in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes of the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics. In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the economic Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, the programmes in health economics, the interdisciplinary programmes involving economics, and teacher education. The successful candidate will also support the training of postgraduate students in economics. An interest in helping to shape the degree programme portfolio would be welcome. The ability to teach in English is expected.
