Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Director of Research, the Assistant Vice President / Vice President – Banking & Finance Group is responsible for leading a team of PhD economists that conducts cutting-edge research on issues related to banking, finance and related fields, in order to help inform monetary and financial policy. They will serve as an experienced thought-leader with an excellent grasp of the tools in finance, banking, monetary economics and related fields. The goal is to ensure that the Bank is at the cutting edge of peer-reviewed research in these areas and drives the policy debate. The officer will drive and inform the banking and finance research agenda for the Bank, and facilitate executive-level briefings on a range of topics related to policy-relevant themes, working in collaboration with Bank and System colleagues in Research, Banking Supervision, and other functions.
