Postdoctoral Scholar
The Development Innovation Lab at the University of Chicago uses the tools of economics to develop innovations with the potential to benefit millions of people in low- and middle-income countries. It was founded and is led by Nobel laureate Michael Kremer.
Job Description

DIL is seeking full-time postdoctoral fellows to lead and contribute to work with the faculty director (Michael Kremer) and other researchers on development economics research projects.
Responsibilities

Research priorities will be set in conversation with the Faculty Director.
DIL will provide time to publish the postdocs’ job market paper and other papers from the PhD that are well on the road to being ready to submit to journals. In special circumstances, postdocs can pursue additional independent work, especially if this work is supported with external financing.
The postdocs will provide input on cross-cutting lab activities or DIL public goods as required.
Work on a portfolio of projects to include India focused research.

Qualifications
PhD in economics or related field by the start of the position.
PhD level training in the methods of economics
Knowledge of and experience with field work in developing countries, preferably including running randomized control trials.
India research experience preferred.

Working Conditions
Candidates must be willing to travel extensively and flexibly as needed for their respective responsibilities.
