Assistant Professor in Risk Management and Insurance

The College of Business at Florida State University is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track position in Risk Management and Insurance. The anticipated start date is Fall 2024. The position will be filled at the assistant level. The department’s Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance is one of the oldest and largest RMI programs in the nation, and consistently ranks among the top programs in the country.

Responsibilities: As a preeminent, top-tier research university, Florida State University emphasizes both strong research and excellent teaching. This state funded tenure track position will be responsible for enhancing the MBA and MS-RMI programs generally and the College’s "Business of Healthcare" initiative more specifically. Primarily teaching at the graduate level, topics including both public and private health insurance, healthcare and healthcare providers is expected. This position would also help create synergies with other colleges (e.g. College of Medicine, College of Nursing) on potential joint programs, as well as apply for grant-funded health care research.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited program or similarly accredited health related program. Tenure-track status requires degree in-hand by August 2024. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to research and teaching excellence. Preference will be given to applicants with research experience in the areas of health care and health insurance.
