The Department of Economics at London Business School is seeking to recruit a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow/Assistant. The post will be under the direction of Professor Elias Papaioannou.
The Research Fellow/Assistant should have experience and interest in growth and development economics, economic history or/and economic geography and international trade (theory and empirics). The candidate should be proficient with GIS software and be able to program in python. knowledge of STATA or R is essential. Knowledge of applied econometrics, experience with spatial, quantitative trade, and of Machine Learning are particularly beneficial.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or be near completion in economics from a leading institution.
The candidate could spend time in the Economics Department at Brown University working with Professor Stelios Michalopoulos. Candidates should provide a detailed outline of how their experience and training in economic growth, development economics or/and economic geography would enable them to contribute to the research project and details of their own research, if relevant. Ideal starting date is September 2024 with some flexibility.
The post will be on a fixed-term contract for a period of (up to) two years. Starting salary will be up to 50,000 GBP p/a, depending upon relevant qualifications and experience.
