The Department of Economics at Queen’s University invites applications for up to two Weatherall Postdoctoral Fellowships. These are one-year fellowships, commencing on July 1st, 2024, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Postdoctoral Fellows will work under the supervision of a host professor in the Department. While, we are particularly interested in applicants with research and teaching interests in the area of econometrics, applicants in other fields are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants must obtain clearance to graduate from their PhD program before starting their postdoctoral fellowship.
Postdoctoral Fellows appointed to these positions are expected to reside in Kingston, to be actively involved in the day-to-day life of the Economics Department, and to collaborate in developing research ideas in with faculty and students in the Department.
The Postdoctoral Fellowship carries a full-time salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The incumbent will also be expected to teach at least one course per year and may have the option to teach two, depending on availability. In addition, the Department of Economics will provide some resources to cover research expenses. These may include, for example, computer hardware and software, technical books and journals, and travel to conferences.
