Urban's Tax Policy Center(TPC) seeks an expert researcher to contribute to and expand research and policy analysis on corporate and international taxation, tax modeling, and tax administration.
The senior fellow will work on projects analyzing the revenue and distributional consequences of tax policies, primarily at the federal level. They will support the development of tax and transfer microsimulation models within TPC and supervise analyses using these models. They'll conceptualize and develop new research projects and initiatives that are creative and meet high standards of methodological rigor. In addition, they will direct new or ongoing projects and initiatives, including being responsible for research quality, finances, timelines, staffing and managing staff, and meeting funder goals. They will lead efforts to fundraise for new research and initiatives. They will establish or enhance relationships with relevant external stakeholders, including local, state, and federal policymakers, business leaders, media, academia, nonprofits, and advocates.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and skills associated with a Ph.D. in economics or a related field. Senior executive or legislative branch government experience is also highly encouraged. 10+ years of prior experience in related research areas in addition to significant experience conceptualizing and executing policy-relevant research on tax policy and administration
