The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation seeks a collaborative, outcomes-driven Program Officer for its Economy and Society Initiative (ESI). This role involves engaging in grantmaking, building and maintaining strong relationships with grantees, and participating in strategic planning. The ESI aims to foster a new economic paradigm beyond neoliberalism, supporting academic thinkers, institutions, and grassroots organizations. The Program Officer will work closely with a dedicated team, monitoring trends in economic thought, organizing meetings, developing reports, and representing the foundation at events.

Key responsibilities include implementing ESI's strategy, conducting research, establishing trust-based relationships with grantees and funders, and overseeing active grants. Desired attributes include strong relationship-building skills, persuasive communication, a deep interest in economic policy, strategic thinking, and excellent project management. The role requires an undergraduate degree, with a relevant advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred. The Program Officer will report to the Director, Jennifer Harris, and travel domestically and internationally for grantee meetings and conferences.
