Health Economics and Policy (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)

The LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Economics to begin in Fall 2025-26. One of the nation’s top ten programs in public affairs, the LBJ School is seeking to strengthen its faculty in the economics of health policy design,implementation, and evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess experience and expertise as a health economist in one or more of the following areas: health care financing and insurance, policy solutions to health inequality and disparities, health services research, health policy reforms, mental health policy or related field. The appointee’s research will have direct relevance to public policy. The appointee will teach economics-focused courses related to a field of public policy.

A Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics/Data Science or a related field with an emphasis in health policy is required. ABD candidates will be considered if the doctoral degree will be complete by the time of employment. The search committee will begin considering applications November 17.
