The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) of Osaka University invites applications for a few positions: Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor (tenured), or Professor (tenured). The position will be decided based on the applicant’s qualifications.
Qualifications: For the tenured position of associate professor or professor, a successful candidate must hold a degree equivalent to a Ph.D., have a competitive publication record in economics or related fields, and be able to teach in Japanese. For the tenure-track position of assistant professor or associate professor, a successful candidate must hold or expect to hold a degree equivalent to a Ph.D. in economics or related fields by September 30, 2025, and be able to teach in either English or Japanese.
Starting Date: June 1, 2025 or later (negotiable)

4. Letters of reference from three or more recommenders are required for tenure-track positions. The letters should be submitted directly by the letter writers.

Depending on the status of the application, the applicant may be required to submit the following documents:
1. Letter from a journal for each paper that is either forthcoming or has received a revision request
