OTA is responsible for official Administration estimates of all federal receipts. OTA staff work with an experienced staff of tax attorneys to design legislative proposals, implement current tax law, and formulate and review tax regulations. OTA is seeking economists that have a strong background in public economics and have a strong interest in shaping federal tax policy. OTA staff cover numerous domestic and international policy areas including business formation, choice of business organizational form, tax accounting, savings and investment, pensions, Social Security, financial institutions and products, labor, health, housing, the environment, energy, and international trade and investment flows. Staff members are encouraged to publish and present their tax policy research findings in professional journals and in academic and professional settings.
