Postdoctoral Scholar in Wealth Inequality – the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality CUNY Graduate Center

Salary: $90,000/year, plus benefits and access to funding for research-related expenses
The Stone Center is hiring a postdoctoral scholar (CUNY contract title: research associate) with a recent Ph.D. working on wealth and/or wealth inequality, to carry out research focused on the United States, on other countries, or through cross-country comparisons.
Priority will be given to candidates conducting research in the following areas:
Distribution of wealth, wealth inequality, wealth concentration;
Intergroup wealth disparities (e.g., by gender, race, ethnicity, migration status);
Determinants (including public policies) and consequences of wealth concentration;
Estate, inheritance, gift, and wealth taxation, and/or other policies that shape wealth accumulation and wealth transfers.
Applicants should have:
Ph.D. degree in economics, sociology, political science, public policy, or a related social science discipline, completed no more than seven years prior to the application date
Ph.D. degree must be awarded before the start date, August 2025
Research portfolio demonstrating experience with empirical, methodological, or theoretical scholarship on socio-economic inequality and/or social mobility
High level of empirical and statistical skills
