Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Center for Algorithms, Data, and Market Design (CADMY) is a cross-university center that seeks to support and further research at the intersection of computer science, data science and economics.

CADMY is offering several Postdoctoral Associate positions designed for recent graduates of Ph.D. programs working at the intersection of Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics. We are particularly interested in candidates with interest in algorithms, blockchains and cryptocurrency, causal inference, game theory, learning, machine learning, market design, and networks, but all subjects at the intersection of these three scientific disciplines are invited to apply.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. prior to beginning of their appointment as a Postdoctoral Associate and are expected to have a strong research and publication record. Postdoctoral Associates are expected to be present on the Yale campus three full days per week, contribute to research and publications, and participate in seminars and conferences at Yale. Associates are strongly urged to reside in the New Haven area.

The resident Postdoctoral Associate will start their appointment in the Fall of 2025 for a duration of one year; Postdoctoral Associates may apply for a second year of support. CADMY Postdoctoral Associates receive a salary of 85,000 USD per year plus Yale benefits, a travel/research stipend of 15,000 USD, and office space.

CADMY also offers self-funded Visiting Fellowships for individuals with their own sources of funding— for example, winners of Fulbright or other fellowship awards. The application requirements are identical to that of the Postdoctoral Associate. Please indicate the sources of funding in your application.

CADMY also offers partially funded sabbatical appointments for junior and senior researchers in the above areas of interest. The application requirements are identical to that of the Postdoctoral Associate. Please indicate the sources of funding and request for additional funding, if applicable, in your application.

All applications should include the following:

• A cover letter indicating your interest in the position
• CV
• Job Market Paper or at least one scholarly writing sample (in English)
• A research agenda (3 pages max)
• Ph.D. program transcript
• Two letters of recommendation

Please electronically submit application materials to https://www.aeaweb.org/joe before January 31, 2025. A review of all applications will begin January 15, 2025, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025 or later based on mutual agreement. Appointment decisions will be made on a rolling basis.

If you have specific questions about the position for which you are applying, please contact the CADMY Program Administrator via cadmy@yale.edu.
