The Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan-Institute for Social Research is accepting applications for two Postdoctoral Fellowship positions beginning on or about September 1, 2025. Fellowships are sponsored by the National Institute on Aging supporting fellows doing research with a substantial aging-related health component. The term of fellowship will be for two years and provides health insurance, childcare support and stipends to support living expenses. Stipend will be commensurate with experience, based on levels established by NIH. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in demography, public health, public policy, or one of the social sciences (e.g., sociology, economics, psychology) by the starting date. We are interested in reviewing applications from a pool of highly talented scientists from diverse backgrounds including applicants from underrepresented backgrounds, persons with a disability, or individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. The application deadline is December 1, 2024. Fellows are expected to be in residence and devote most of their time to independent research. Our fellows benefit from fruitful relationships with faculty mentors and programming designed to provide training in population science perspectives and methods, exposure to interdisciplinary scholarship, and continued development of scholarly independence. Positions offer exceptional opportunities for collaboration at the Institute for Social Research.
