Description of duties:
Contribute to research projects and develop own agenda in economics, technology, and innovation.
The postdoctoral fellow will be part of the Laboratory for the Management of Science and Technology (L-MOST) led by Prof Avi Goldfarb. The fellow will benefit from connections to the Creative Destruction Lab, a global startup program for seed-stage, science-based companies and the Acceleration Consortium, a global collaboration focused on accelerating the discovery of new materials and molecules through artificial intelligence and automation.
We are interested in candidates with research interests in:
Economics of Science and Innovation
Economics of Artificial Intelligence
Economics of Entrepreneurship
Digital Marketing
Healthcare Information Technology
Salary: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience
Please note that should the minimum rates stipulated in the collective agreement fall below the rates
stated in this posting, the minimum rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics or related field (within last 5 years or expected by start date)
Strong background in applied empirical research
Research experience in at least one specified area
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and programming skills (e.g. Stata, R, Python)
Strong communication and teamwork abilities

The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time postdoctoral fellow (pro-rated for those holding a partial appointment) recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work.
Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE
