The Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Society (IRES) at Chapman University is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the economics of religion. The fellowship will commence in Fall 2025 and can extend for up to two years.
The Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Society (IRES) was founded at Chapman University in September 2009 by Dr. Laurence Iannaccone. IRES is unique in its aim to enhance our comprehension of the connections between religion, economy, and society through an interdisciplinary approach. The institute involves economists, sociologists, and other social scientists in the study of religion. This is accomplished through various means, such as scholarly publications, research seminars, training workshops, conferences, courses, online resources, and public lectures.
IRES is now the home of the Association for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Culture (ASREC) and a partner of the Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA), establishing itself as the center of a rapidly expanding international network of scholars and students.
The University is dedicated to enhancing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruitment and employment. More information on diversity and inclusion at Chapman University is available at https://www.chapman.edu/diversity.
