The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is seeking to fill a Supervisory Economist position in its Office of Research. Supervisory Economists supervise a team of Ph.D. Economists, Research Analysts, and Research Assistants working on policy issues and external facing research related to consumer finance.
For this position we are seeking candidates who are experienced in studying economic issues with granular consumer-or firm level data. Candidates should also have experience with impact analyses to support policy development, and consumer finance experience is a plus. Experience managing large research projects or supervisory experience is preferred.
Candidates for the position should be able to demonstrate mastery of one or more applied microeconomic fields and demonstrated experience, through publication in peer-reviewed journals or similar research outlets, in conducting complex qualitative and quantitative research. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, and specifically be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate research findings and analyses, orally and in writing, to non-technical audiences.
