The Department of Economics at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates invites applications for one regular (rolling-contract-track) position at the Assistant Professor rank. Candidates must have a PhD in Economics, preferably from North America, by the starting date (August 2025). Fields are open, with preference for those listed. Applicants must have strong research agenda and teaching skills and must be able to work effectively with a diverse student body. The standard teaching load is 3+3 small sections per year. The university curricula, teaching standards, and employment norms are aligned with the American model of higher education. The salary is competitive and tax free in the UAE. Seed research funds, free housing, paid utilities, and other benefits are also provided.
