DecisionNext is a growing software company that uses analytics to help food, natural resources, and chemical companies make better business decisions. DecisionNext is fully remote with staff located across the U.S.

We are looking to hire a Senior Economist within our Science division. Economists in this position comprehensively understand commodity markets and statistical techniques with the ability to communicate solutions to customers.

What you’ll do:
-Develop commodity market expertise through statistical or econometric modeling techniques.
-Translate model results into customer solutions.
-Craft original written content targeted to customers and internal teams.
-Support customers’ understanding of DecisionNext software and lead the development of new products.
-Monitor data quality and forecast performance. Implement corrective actions as needed to minimize forecast error/bias.
-Continuously improve methodologies and processes to enhance forecast accuracy.

Experience:
-Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across different functions.
-Diverse skill set covering data analysis, econometrics, and time series.
-Curious about understanding customer problems and driving innovative solutions.
-Excel at communicating complex ideas to business partners for data-driven decision making.

Qualifications:
-Ph.D. in a quantitative field
-Experience explaining commodity market concepts to non-scientists.
-Strong statistical research skills and familiarity with time-series modeling and forecasting methodology.
-Background in Food/Agriculture or Mining/Natural Resources
