Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Economics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in applied microeconomics (JEL classifications H, I1, J or R) and applied econometrics (JEL classifications C1 or C8) starting August 2024. Preference will be given to applicants whose primary fields of expertise lie in urban, rural, and regional economics or health economics. The successful candidate will have a willingness and ability to become proficient in teaching SAS programming for data analytics. Knowledge of other programming languages is a bonus. Advanced assistant professors are welcome to apply.

Candidates must have a PhD in economics by August 26, 2024 and show evidence of high potential for excellence in teaching and significant research publishable in quality peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate-level classes which include classes in applied econometrics. Upper-level electives and graduate-level courses depend on the candidate’s areas of specialty and departmental needs. Additional responsibilities include advising students, leading students’ capstone senior project, assisting in curriculum development, and participating in other departmental activities as assigned by the department chair.
