The University of Wisconsin-Stout seeks an economist with a passion for teaching and the potential for innovative scholarship to fill a full-time, entry level, tenure-track appointment beginning in August of 2024. Located in Menomonie, Wisconsin, UW-Stout fulfills its mission as Wisconsin’s polytechnic university by preparing career-ready, creative thinkers who graduate equipped with the knowledge and skills to emerge as leaders in their workplaces and communities. We invite applications from scholars who can help advance this mission through applying sound economic theory to real world problems, while teaching others to do the same.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in economics required by the beginning of the appointment.
Interest in advancing student learning in economics.
Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities include teaching economics courses to support general education requirements and programs in Applied Social Science (including an economics concentration) and Business and Administration, as well as minors in economics and investments and finance. Responsibilities also include maintenance of a reasonable research agenda commensurate with the teaching load, and service necessary to maintain the functioning and excellence of the university. Faculty also provide student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning, including contributing to academic program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff across campus. In addition to academic year instructional responsibilities, there is the possibility of additional teaching opportunities during the summer and winter.
