The Department of Economics at the University of Manchester invites applications for at least one junior positions at the level of Lecturer (equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professor).

The Department of Economics is seeking candidates with background in the field of economics, candidates with background in macroeconomics, and econometrics and data science are particularly encouraged to apply. The appointment is expected to begin on the 1st of September 2024. Successful applicants must have a PhD in Economics or a related field by the beginning of employment on 1st September 2024 and are expected to be committed to research and teaching of the highest quality.

Applicants should have experience of delivering research-informed teaching at an institution of higher learning or should be able to demonstrate the clear potential to do so.

There are 2 stages to the application process:

Stage 1:

https://www.jobs.manchester.ac.uk/Home/Job, find the position lectureship economics, or lectureship in econometrics if your primarily field is econometrics, and complete the required fields and sections online, by clicking the “Apply for Job” button at the bottom of the page. Do not upload any supporting information in that system except the minimum required to submit your application.

Stage 2:

Apply online via http://www.econjobmarket.org/ by submitting the required documents (cv, job market paper, additional written research papers if you have, evidence of teaching effectiveness, letters of references). Applicants should indicate in their application at which of the two meetings (see below) they are available for the first round of interview.
